Tree of Wonder. Day and Night. Frivolity and Aspiration. Light and Forboding. The wonders of the life unconscious.

Glassware assignments

Glassware is difficult to photograph. The best solution is to let the light pass through the subjects rather than try to illuminate the glass directly. The first photo was lit with a strobe illuminating white seamless. There was no direct lighting on the wine glasses. Note the mirror base and the blue tint.

The second photo was lit from behind with three strobes two from the sides and one from overhead. The background was blacked out using PhotoShop to give a neon appearance to the bottles.

Good snow pictures demand freshly fallen snow and early light (or evening light). Taken Jan 2010.

Below: The restored Smith Bridge in the snow. There were many telephone poles and wires removed with PhotoShop.
